Edward G. Janeway (August 25, 1901 – January 10, 1986) was a Vermont politician who served as President of the Vermont State Senate.

The son of Theodore Caldwell Janeway and brother of Charles Alderson Janeway, Edward Gamaliel Janeway was born in New Rochelle, New York on August 25, 1901.〔(Vermont Secretary of State ), Vermont Legislative Directory, 1969, page 763〕 He graduated from Yale University in 1922〔(Yale University ), The Yale Banner and Pot Pourri, Volume 14, 1922, page 95〕 and became an investment banker with White Weld & Co. in New York City.〔(Standard & Poor's Corp. ), Security Dealers of North America, Issues 3-8, 1941, page 18〕 (Janeway was married to Elinor White, whose family was involved in founding Weld White.)〔Vermont Secretary of State, Vermont Legislative Directory, 1970, page 763〕〔(H.W. Janeway served in the Navy during World War II, attaining the rank of Lieutenant Commander.〔(Boston Globe ), Edward G. Janeway, Was Leader of VT.
